Bikers Peddle to Mexico

Its a once in a lifetime trip riding bike from North Dakota all the way to Mexico Reporter Tia Elzenga has the story Reporter It started as a way to just save a little money on a trip to see his sister Dan so from there it just turned into lets go border to border and we thought we can help somebody so we just deceided to turn it into a fundraiser Chad My mom told me my uncle was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus I wanted a reason to ride before and I never really had one and then my mom told me that and I said ok the American Cancer Society Dan campus crusade for christ has really been there for me and I ve just been walking with God this semester so I wanted to make sure they had the funds for this up coming year to outreach to students at UND Reporter The two have been training for just two months to get ready for the big trip Dan so really our bodies aren t really ready for this but again I m really having faith in God that he ll help show us the way and hopefully we ll meet some great people and it ll be an amazing trip Chad we re gonna go south along the western side of Nroth Dakota and South Dakota cut into Wyoming down to Colorad Springs then to the panhandle of Oklahoma and then from Texas to Mexico Dan we re going in the two hottest months of the year July and August knowing that we need about 10 000 calories a day just not to loose weight and we re not big guys anyways so we can t really be affording to loose weight Reporter Chad and Dan expect to ride at least 50 miles a day and sometimes up to 200 miles a day Chad at first windy then hilly then hot Reporter Everyone has their own reaction to the guys wild idea Dan that s inspiring I ve gotten quite a bit that s amazing and quite a few people saying I don t bike but I d love to go with you but I can t get off work Chad I m just getting pumped for it just think about it so Reporter Dan and Chad are leaving July 22nd and expect to make the trip in just about 22 days and then they ll be flying back to North Dakota For KX News I m Tia Elzenga The guys are planning to visit Chad s sister in Colorado Springs and then Dan s sister in Austin Texas If you d like help the guys make their donation goal you can give them a call
