Cancer patients in the Williston area need to continue to have state-of-the-art equipment to help in their fight against the disease That s one reason Mercy Medical Center officials say they ve begun a five-million-dollar fund raising campaign Hospital officials announced the fund drive today - and said American State Bank in Williston has helped start the process with a pledge that could total more than two hundred thousand dollars Mercy s current cancer care center includes a radiation therapy machine - but that machinery will soon need replacement - and officials say now is the time to raise the money for new equipment - and a remodeling project to handle an expected increase in patient-load Acting CEO Kerry Monson says it s a big task Kerry Monson Mercy Medical Center CEO Although five million is daunting the purpose behind the gift and the fund raising is so near and dear to many of our hearts that I think it s very achievable Mercy officials hope to raise the five million dollars over the next five years
